COI (Certificate of Insurance)

COI is an official document that proves your moving company carries the proper insurance coverage. Many apartment buildings, condos, and office towers require this before they’ll allow movers on the property.

Think of it as a “permission slip” from our insurance provider that reassures building management (and you) that your move is covered and protected.

What Does a COI Include?

  1. Coverage Details: Shows the types and limits of insurance carried (liability, workers’ compensation, cargo, etc.).
  2. Proof of Validity: Confirms that the insurance policy is active and current.
  3. Building-Specific Info: Can be issued directly to your building’s management with their name and address on it.

When Might You Need a COI?

  1. Moving into or out of a high-rise apartment or condo.
  2. Relocating to a downtown office building.
  3. Any property where management wants assurance that movers are insured against accidents, damage, or injuries.

Example:
You’re moving into a new apartment in New York City. The building manager asks for a COI before scheduling your elevator reservation. We send the COI directly to them, confirming we’re insured, and your move goes forward without delays.

Pro Tip:
Check with your building management a few weeks before your move to see if a COI is required. Providing it early helps secure elevator time, loading dock access, and keeps your moving day stress-free.
