In-Home Estimate / Virtual Estimate

A specialist comes to your home, examines the items to be moved, and assesses the scope and complexity. Based on this, the necessary truck, number of loads, and packing materials are calculated.

Virtual assessment – when the same thing happens via a video link. Both methods are used to make a realistic estimate.

In-Home Estimate

  1. A moving specialist visits your home in person.
  2. And walk through each room, review all items to be moved, and assess access points (e.g., stairs, hallways, elevators, driveways).

The specialist also discusses:

  1. Moving of special items (pianos, fragile art, large furniture).
  2. Your packing needs for moving.
  3. Any known restrictions at the new or current location (parking zones, elevator accessibility, door frame width, etc.).

Best For: Clients who prefer face-to-face service, have large or unusual items, or live in homes with tricky access points.

Virtual Estimate

  1. During a virtual estimate, we use technology (usually via a video call) to perform the same evaluation remotely.
  2. You’ll walk through your home with a mover via Zoom, FaceTime, or a moving app.
  3. The specialist asks you to show specific rooms, items, and entry/exit points.
  4. It’s fast, convenient, and can usually be scheduled at short notice.

Best For: Clients with smaller or more straightforward moves, or those who prefer to save time without a house visit.

Why Moving Estimates Matter

  1. It helps the moving team prepare the correct truck size, crew, and equipment.
  2. It ensures your quote is accurate and transparent.
  3. It reduces the risk of extra charges on moving day.
  4. It helps identify whether services like shuttle service, crating, or storage may be needed.
